10 Nerdy Gift Ideas

We all have those one or two nerds in our life that we never know what to get them (looks at boyfriend). So that’s why I’m here to help you out! Although there are a lot of different types of nerds out there I’m going to try to be as broad as possible to help you guys out.

Let’s get started!

Key Chains

So if you’re like me you really like key chains, and if you have a nerd in your life that likes key chains it’s pretty obvious (check their bag or keys to find out). Luckily key chains are a pretty low-cost option for a lot of people and they are easy to collect. This means that it’s also really easy to find really cool key chain designs for your nerdy friend. You can find these on Etsy, Amazon, or Store Envy and the smaller the shop the more unique the designs typically are.

So this is pry defiantly more for the girls, but if you like an anime, manga, or just a really popular thing (dragons) plushies of these can be so much fun to receive and bonus points if you make it for your nerdy friend and bring one of the characters that they absolutely love to life.

I wanted to include this because even if you can’t find one they are super easy to make. For some reason a lot of us like to let everyone know what we absolutely love and spread the love of our fandom. I don’t know why we do this, but I 100% love to wear nerdy shirts. What’s even better is when you make a new t-shirt for your friend. You can do this through heat-transfer paper that you can get at any craft store or you can go all out and use a heat transfer vinyl. I used ‘to always use what I could get at the craft store, but I’m slowly getting into the vinyl and it’s pretty easy as well.

Fan Art or Art Books

Maybe this is just a me thing, but I absolutely love art books and prints. I feel like bringing my nerdy passions into my living space is so important to me and I absolutely love unique and amazing art about the things that I absolutely love and can bother people with even more. If the person you’re shopping for love Disney there are so many beautiful art books that will make them very very happy.

Convention Tickets

I love going to conventions, but tickets can be really expensive so if your person is talking about a convention that they would like to go to getting a pair of tickets for them would be a great choice. (Just make sure you know which convention they want to go to and that they actually can go.)

I used to get LootCrate and I absolutely loved it, but it was a little too expensive for me. So if you’re looking for a higher-end gift getting them a LootCrate would be awesome. If you don’t know what LootCrate is it’s a monthly subscription service where you person will get a box in the mail filled with little goodies that are nerdy and collectible. Since I stopped getting it they have made more boxes that are directly related to different nerdy things, so defiantly go look at their website and see if there is a box that your person would enjoy,

This one is a little harder. I personally will put specific books and manga on my wishlist so that people know what I would like, but if your person doesn’t have a list like this or doesn’t like books this isn’t the best choice for you. Books honestly are really hard to find for me, but when you can get them a book that they love it’s a great gift.

Cards and Dice

So if your person really likes games like Dungeons and Dragons you can find some really cool dice, and I honestly just like to give these because they look pretty. Boyfriend prefers when I get him a Magic the Gathering card that he’s been looking at, and to be honest that’s pry a better gift. On the up side if your person plays Magic the Gathering listening to them explain it a little is fun to hear about and really gets them excited, and it doesn’t take long to find out what card they want because often times they’ll let you know pretty early in the conversation.

Gift Cards

Just like anything if you really don’t know what to get grab them a gift card from somewhere that they like or that you know that they shop. I write down on the back what I wanted to get them or an idea that they could spend it on, just because I don’t like just giving them a gift card. If you even just get an amazon gift card and write on the back “this is for merchandise <thing that they’re into>. I wanted to get you something, but I didn’t know what you would like so I hope that you have fun picking something out.” Something that simple can really be a great gift to get, so don’t underestimate it.

So what have I missed on this list? What’s on your Christmas list? Let me know in the comments below!

See you soon,

~ Amanda Ann
